KINGS AND THEIR FAMILIES

CORRECTION LAODIKE (12) , daughter of Seleukos IV and Laodike (15), married first to Perseus (F) king of Macedon in 178 or 177 (a), second to her brother Demetrios I in 161/0. Mother of Antigonos, Demetrios II and Antiochos VII (b).  After the collapse of Perseus’ power in Macedonia she returned to the home of her brother in Syria.   When she could not be married off to Ariarathes V of Kappadokia (c) Demetrios took matters into his own hands and married her himself.  She was murdered  along with her son Antigonos, by Ammonios (O) when Alexander I Balas swept to power in 150/49 (d).

NEW APOLLOPHANES (14) , son of Apollophanes, a priest of Aphrodite who erected an altar for the health of Demetrios I, Laodike (12), and their children after 159.
